Spain

I lived on the island of Mallorca for the 2010-2011 school year, teaching English at an elementary school and a high school.  It was a beautiful island full of beautiful places to curl up with a book.

A beautiful spot a short bike ride from my house. I’d come here to read, think, and just watch the waves.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really start keeping good notes about the books I read until the spring of 2011, so the list of bloggable books I first read in Spain is fairly short.  I’ll try to reconstruct my memory, or else to go back and give the books a re-read so I can do them justice here.

Dickens, Charles: A Tale of Two Cities

Fleming, Ian: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

Hardy, Thomas: Tess of the D’Urbervilles

Robinson, Marilynne: Gilead
